Crandall Mountain Campground - Waterton National Park
Unfortunately, the Crandall Mountain Campground remains closed following significant infrastructure damages following the Kenow Wildfire in 2017. Parks Canada has managed to rebuild the underground utilities and infrastructure, water tank, water treatment building, animal corridors and rough grading of the future parking lot.
Reconstructing efforts for the campground were significantly hindered during the COVID 19 pandemic and halted as a result. Stage I of the project was completed in 2021 with stage II set to commence soon. There is no timeline for the reopening.

Where to go instead?
There are only two other campgrounds located in Waterton National Park: Townsite Campground and Belly River Campground.
Townsite Campground, as you might expect, is located in the town of Waterton itself and offers all the amenities. Belly River Campground is located near the U.S border and offers little amenities.
